I have been using WHS for several weeks now and fortunately no crashes, so I have no personal experience about this to verify, but it is good to know. Thanks for the information on your experience and decision.

Is it possible for me to use one computer in my house as a server? So the other 2 computers on my home network can access this specific computer to access files (such as downloaded files and bigger files for installation, to save space). I am using my computer at the moment for shared files and folders. But i want to also be able to use a weekly backup of each computer onto the server?

Regarding the snapshot of the drive, I just read earlier today on another site it doesn't include the temp directory, or the recorded TV directory. Something to do with the files not being deemed important?

The temp shouldn't be to much of an issue, and you can just set the recorded TV directory to be on the Windows Home Server, problem solved.

Hopefully people find the info handy as it will make the decision for many people as to whether they need one of their own easier!

The entire system configuration. You can use the backup ability to painlessly upgrade the drive in your client machine. Simply pop in a new drive, boot from a Windows Home Server recovery CD, and have your server copy your exact system state onto your new drive.

I really can't wait to get my hands on one of these. Yes, I know it's possible to manually setup sometime similar, but I'd love something that is easy to use, setup, and maintain.

I can't wait to see how this turns out.
